This year’s collection of field recordings includes 20 songs, poems, and stories recorded at the 2010 Pennsylvania Annual Rainbow Gathering in the Allegheny National Forest near the town of Sheffield.

What happened to the sing songs of the singing song?
Oh where oh, where did the washing tide take them?
Well we probably know but for now, the boom boom boom prevails
Ah well, what can you do
Take it easy man and take it like a rage they say
But the obvious is that music is the soul of the human race
Without that soul, we offer our ears to nothings lore
So here we are with the boom boom pulse that evokes the eternal bore

Well in the meantime, I will leave that market to the marketable
For I shall tempt the raggedy tail for a jiggity jig or two
He may oblige or he may shrug but pull on his tail and he won’t say no
Cuz that tempest sea is a rambling song that must be sung aloud for thee

‘Twas dark the night, herding stars we ‘twuz go
Our herd shall roll, to the roustabouts’ abode

My heart in hand, slicker on the saddle
Tears shall not fall, calling the goddamn cattle

Fo’ now we see, a twisty story nigh
All half tryin’, to grab a mighty hogtie

A bell a ding, a laugh beyond the hillside
Come with a whoop, bread upon the milky tide

Well done my Lawd, figurin’ the noose reigns
You’ve been forlorn, avoidin’ the earthen stains

Come with a POW!, or ya come not at all
We not to wait, for the forsaken sit small
