New Mexico 2009

Greetings and welcome to the 10th year of the rainbow family circus & tribal zoo compilation project, and what a year it was! The 2009 New Mexico Annual Rainbow Gathering was held near the town of Cuba in the Santa Fe National Forest. We were baptized with a double rainbow on the 4th of July, certainly an occasion that will not be soon forgotten.

Over the years I often have enough recordings to compile 2 CDs worth of music and sometimes enough for only one. This year I recorded several more hours, largely due to the extended recording at the Granola Funk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution night. As a result, I compiled 52 songs and poems over 3 CDs. Disk 1 has 17 tracks on it, Disk 2 has 19 tracks, and Disk 3 has 16 tracks.

I was reflecting on the passing of a friend and the 4th of July rainbow that we shared together and these following words came to me.

From the roots of rustic truths to the honor we venerate
We have but the moments to share so saddle up my friends
For this land and our hands clench for the cherished strengths
Realizing that when our time is gone it’s gone as the winding dream…
