Colorado 2022
This year’s collection of field recordings was recorded at the 2022 Colorado 50th Anniversary Annual Rainbow Gathering - The Year of the Jubilee! - in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest outside the towns of Hadyn and Craig.
We gathered at Adams Park. The strange synchronicity that emerged was the fact that Adams Creek flowed through the site, and to the west, not too far away, flows Douglas Creek, and the main supply, kitchen, and emergency vehicle parking was located at the end of the gathering on FS road 42, which any fans of author Douglas Adams already know, is pretty cool, unless you ask Marvin, then it’s just whatever. Regardless, all you need to know is that the answer to everything is 42.
We gathered at roughly 8600 ft., which is relatively low for a National Forest site in Colorado. Being the 50th anniversary, many gatherers were over 60, and altitude and uphill movement required taking breaks to catch your breath. Still, it was a beautiful site with stunning views from every imaginable nook and cranny.
Given the environment, it is likely I mistitled or uncredited a track, so please contact me with a correction.

This year’s compilation includes 181 songs, stories, poems, snippets, and what have you, which exceeded the recording expectations I didn’t have prior to attending the gathering.
